Lyrics
Becky and I, we got it all
It’s the American Dream
Everything we ever wanted we got
Even the latest big screen
With twenty credit cards we get around
An’ both the cars we got for a dollar down
For sixteen years I paid on Becky’s ring
I don’t save any money but I live like a king
Chorus 1
I’m a credit card junkie
And there ain’t no doubt
I need to get on a 12 step program,
to help me figure it out
People might think I am loaded
But I got no reason to sing
If you add up all the money I owe
I really don’t own a thing
Becky waits tables at TGIF;
Me, I’m still on at GM
If I work overtime, they tax it away
But that’s not the real problem
Got a jumbo mortgage and tiny IRA
There’s two weeks of bills for every week of pay!
Retail therapy can help ease the pain
But little plastic cards are my crack cocaine!
Chorus 2
I’m a credit card junkie
And there ain’t no doubt
I need to get on a 12 step program,
to help me figure it out
Maybe I can sell a kidney?
Do I really need a spleen?
If you add up all the money I owe
I really don’t own a thing
Bridge:
I Fell into a Debtabetic coma
Dreamed we turned this thing around
We burned the credit cards and built an IRA
Baby debt didn’t bring us down!
Chorus 2 (repeat)
Chorus 3 and fade
I’m a credit card junkie
And there’s no doubt I need a 12 step program, to help me figure it out Maybe I can sell Timmy? Hey, where’s little Darlene? If you add up all the money I owe…

Lyrics

My Dad and I have a secret
Mom and Bubby know it too
When Daddy squeezes our hand three times
It means,” I-Love-You”.

My first day of school Daddy squeezed my hand goodbye
He said he wasn’t crying just something in his eye

Chorus:
What if you need to talk and just can’t find the words?
Squeeze out I-Love-You and then you will be heard
In church, at a ballgame, or at the grocery store,
Three squeezes say, “I love you” and so much more
When Grandpa died, Daddy’s heart was broken through and through.
And I was there to hold his hand, what else could I do ?
You don’t need a reason, to squeeze out “I love you”
Through good times or bad, it’s just what families do
High school graduation, first car, my college degree
My friends and family were always there for me.
When Dad walked me down the aisle on my wedding day,
He stopped and turned to me—he had something to say:
Someday you’ll hold your baby’s hand, like I did with you
And right away, they’ll understand our three squeeze rule
Your mom and I hope our example is a real good start;
A gentle reminder of words we’ve written upon your heart.”
Repeat Chorus:
