About Jon Hanson
Prior to devoting himself full-time to writing and speaking about the dangers of "Debtabetes" and other scourges of the land, Jon Hanson was a full-time commercial real estate professional. Since 1981, he worked primarily with distressed property situations, and has been involved with more than 100 foreclosure work-outs, judicial foreclosure of liens, judgments, and disposition of bankruptcy claims.

After seeing first-hand more debt, regret, and broken dreams than most will see in a lifetime, he began to see a common culprit in most of the business and residential foreclosures he was processing: a lack of understanding about the true dangers of excess debt coupled with business and personal spending choices that would ultimately lead to fiscal disaster. Good Debt, Bad Debt is based on Jon's observations in the field and his own painful recovery from "Debtabetes."

Jon holds a bachelor's degree in sociology from the State University of New York and is currently working on a master's degree. He lives near Columbus, Ohio with his wife and two children, a small dog, an even smaller mortgage, and no consumer debt.
